mouse trackin’
Feb. 9th, 2010 | 04:59 pm
this isn’t terribly useful, but kind of fun, a little app that tracks your mouse usage for, uh, however long you leave it turned on. this is only a couple of hours, with a coffee break at the end (yes, the big dot).

happy winter
Dec. 21st, 2009 | 04:25 pm
we’re a couple of days early, but in honor of the great snowpocalypse/snowmageddon which dumped feet(!?) of snow on the east coast this weekend, winter seemingly has already arrived.

marlow and sons
Dec. 16th, 2009 | 09:00 am
marlow used to have my favorite breakfast, a spectacular biscuit served up with butter and jam…big, flaky, crumbly, moist, delicious. however, the pastry chef who made those biscuits left, and this biscuit was not THAT biscuit.

peter pan bakery
Dec. 9th, 2009 | 09:00 am
greenpoint’s own peter pan bakery where i have just been introduced to their red velvet donut, their red velvet donut WITH COCONUT!? and their whole wheat donut which sounds like some kind of delusional health-nut abomination, but in fact is possibly their most delicious invention of all (and not healthy at all)!

some bamboo and ink messes from wednesday night figs. i have missed way too many figure drawing sessions this fall, as opposed to the amazing and dogged gb tran, who currently has a perfect attendance record (are you happy now? jerk).
also, special request to shake shack, please change your winter wednesday night hours to 10pm. thanks.

nytimes: letting your grad student go
Nov. 9th, 2009 | 03:31 pm
a spot last week for the new york time’s education life section about parents letting their grad student child go. seems obvious enough, but these are parents who are still helping their kids get into grad school, going on interviews, etc. uh…

paris, france
Oct. 28th, 2009 | 09:00 am
i started to get worried that all i did was draw in coffee shops, so ao and i decided to hop across the atlantic to have the opportunity to draw in cafes. seriously though, just got back from a lovely vacation in paris, and while i never draw as much when i’m away as i hope to, here is some wine and cheese soaked sketching (the second drawing is actually wine soaked).

in case you are surprised by my lack of chatter, twittering, blogging this coming week, it’s because i’ll be being on vacation (wahoo!). yes, the lady and i are off on a lovely fall trip to the city of bears, paris. plenty of sketching and bloggering upon my buttery-winesoaked return.

sva figure drawing workshop

nothing like kicking the tires on a new season of figure drawing. some pen, some pencil, a hint of watercolor, and some ink and bamboo (good suggestion, josh). some of these are tough to look at, you’ve been warned.

was getting a lot of back poses from the models, so hello to other people in the class! (note: clothed)
